ANGKOR WAT SECRET BUILT

The Khmers used sandstones to construct the Angkor Wat. The blocks were collected from Mount Kulen. The Khmers used a combination of elephants, coir ropes, pulleys and bamboo to put the blocks in place.

The Angkor Wat used 5 million tonnes of sandstone. They had to transfer the sandstone from a quarry which was round about 40 km northeast. The stone had to be transported across the Siem Reap river. They would have to be careful due to the heavy weight from the sandstone, the raft could overturn and go in the river. It is estimated that it would take 300 years in the present to build the Angkor Wat.
